A free annual carbon monitoring template that we’ve been successfully carrying out since 2006. The tool is updated with the latest carbon factors and offers you the chance to input data to capture your energy data, alongside Scope 1 and 3 emissions, namely water, transportation, waste and procurement to calculate the resulting emissions. This can allow you to measure emissions against a baseline and any previous years’ data. Whereas in previous years, we would send out an individual report for you, we now also offer you a template to develop plots for your your reports. ISN applicants on the Business Climate Challenge scheme monitored their energy consumption using the IO-Gen platform. This provides an energy management platform that is designed to help businesses in tracking their energy costs and identify potential savings. This is accomplished by locating key data points such as energy, utilities, and operational information. Data is then collected (and automated where possible) and uploaded to a secure cloud storage, then into the IO-Gen Energy Management Platform.
The data is then transformed into interactive dashboards to help in quickly understanding current performance relative to a baseline year or a target. Alongside dashboards, IO-Gen’s platform includes a comprehensive set of intelligent reporting tools to help you identify waste and inefficiencies including the ability to set automated alarms, benchmarking, adding notes, and other useful tools.
The platform is available to all ISN members, if interested email hello@islingtonsustainability.network for further information.
Re carbon monitoring, if you’re looking for alternative options, there are also some free footprinting tools available:
More options here: Free carbon footprint calculators for businesses – UK Business Climate Hub.
Access to an annual personal carbon tracking tool – the aim is to share with your staff and allow them to calculate their footprint for the survey year. This has recently been revamped to take into account new remote working trends – if interested, email hello@islingtonsustainability.network to get access.
